April 1, 2019, Taking a Breath

It is finished, finally!!!!  Here is a photoshopped together image of the end.  Well, this photo shows the top without the one remaining piece of the top, the small lid.  Getting that to work turned out to be a whole 'nother half day project to get it to fit.  Details are such a pain.

Less than a week after this photo, the darned washer flooded the place.  Emergency text to Hubby and I to come help.  DIL said she mopped up what she could then ran away.  Can't you just imagine after all the broken bones, ruptured appendix and a trip on top of work and all the senior activities just in March?  The flood was all she could take.

The problem turned out to be a simple one.  The drain hose had popped out of the drain.  Measures were taken to try and avoid this in the future.  Additional mopping was required.  A fan was set up to clear any remaining moisture,  We had brought the lid and attempted to install.  More modifications were made and was finally considered as good as it would get with our level of expertise.

Just a reminder of how this looked and work in progress.

Inspiration
The right photo was the Pinterest inspiration for the project.  DIL is loving it and that is all that matters.  The white shelf may be changed to a stained wood shelf at a later time if she decides she would prefer that look.

Now that the laundry room project is complete and no more floods we will breath.  Oldest Sister's new knee is doing great after being in the hospital and skilled nursing since March 13.  Well, actually now that I finished helping nephew get packed and moved over the weekend.

Well, maybe after our cousin, who arrived today for a visit, gets her tooth repaired tomorrow morning we will be able to breath and enjoy some down time.  With her tooth ache and upset tummy today has been pretty laid back for Hubby and I.  Cousin is really not feeling well.  Food is making her nauseated.  Praying it is not anything more than a tooth.

  2. Floods are never good. I once had one (similar problem really) and in the end had to fix it myself as my landlord was a clueless idiot who fixed something that wasn't broken at all!

Anyway, glad it is all over. Sort of. A bit. Hopefully it will only get better from now on.

    1. It is already better. Cousin was able to find a dentist in her network, was see, forwarded to an orthodontist and had a root canal this morning! We were out looking at bluebonnets all afternoon.
