After getting Robbie unwrapped from the rug where he was 'resting' in front of the commode, I put him back to work. Within 10 minutes he was hiding under our bed. Later Hubby had do get him untangled from the recycling bins. We could not determine if the bins were feeling threatened by Robbie. Possibly Robbie was being too pushy with the bins. Which ever was the case the bins had Robbie's back pushed between the washer and a thick mat. Had Hubby not intervened something might have been hurt.
Today each of us had to get him out from under the bed again. Robbie had once again tried to cross over the table leaves I have stored under the bed. You know, so the leaves can be flat and not warp. The plastic 6 ft. cutting board is there, too, on top of the table leaves. The combination makes a ramp. I suppose it was not really Robbie's fault he has been stuck under there 4 times. Even after we scolded him soundly. Is this a robot or a 3 year old?
The bed is not the only location Robbie has played hide and seek this week. One day he hid under the sofa. Another day he hid under my chair. Then there was the china hutch. The hutch thing has happened twice. He actually will attempt to come out only he chooses a route that is not the full height he needs to exit. The wooden skirting (which has a slight scallop design) will catch him just right and push the on/off button. I am beginning to think the objects in our apartment are jealous that Robbie gets to run around. They all just have to stay put even though most have legs and feet.
Back to the bed situation. We both have had knee replacements. Kneeling is not comfortable. Old, fat and only 18 inches to maneuver getting up and down is a challenge. A major challenge that can require scooting on our behinds for the length of the bed. After having to perform that act so many times this week, I decided to put my mind to the situation. Hmmm. Is there a place that is flat and wide enough to hold the leaves other than the middle of the floor? Aha! The top shelf of the clothing closet under the suitcases. Yes, that would work if Hubby agrees.
Maybe not all these positions. |
All that work required bending, stretching, leg movements and rump movements that felt like yoga. There was weight lifting and furniture moving. I considered myself to have performed a good workout by the end of it all. Frankly more tired than if I had done the actual vacuuming. Now we will see where Robbie finds to hide Friday morning.
I'll keep you posted. Ya'll keep safe distances out there.
Peace,
Janice
