And what a cute curly redhead she was. She was a momma's or maybe daddy at times. Did not want any thing to do with her Granny. Granny was determined and soon learned of #1 Niece's love of cats. Luckily our neighbor had a couple of outdoor felines. All Granny had to do was hold out her hands and ask, "do you want to go see the kitties?". #1 N would lean into Granny's arms. If there were no kitties to be found #1 N demanded to be returned to her Mom.
By the 2 year level #1N and Granny were great friends. #1N lived with Granny and Grandad for a few years after she graduated highschool. Granny had started sewing for #1N before she was walking. During the time #1N lived with the folks she had to be careful not to mention an outfit she thought was cute. Within days Granny would have it made to a perfect fit. #1N and Granny were great friends to the end of Granny's life.
The red hair and curls just kept staying curly and red. Of course as the teen years arrived so did the need for Farrah Fawcett look. Then came the 1980's and whatever that look was. Others may have needed permanents to get the curly look but not #1Niece!

While I showed photos of #2 Niece had interactions with #2 Sis there is no such thing with #1 Niece. No, sir re bob. # 1 Niece will not come closer than 20 ft to # 1 Sister. Like her Granny, this girl is a stickler for the rules.
Ya'll all take care.

ReplyDeleteIt seems you have groupings of birthdays, as can happen in families. Then again, with as large a troupe as yours, I guess it's a perennial grouping!!! YAM xx
It is true that my older sisters had 3 children each. Oldest's three expanded but not by much. The daughter had a set of twins to add to her husband's two daughters from a previous marriage. Her middle child, a son, has one adopted child. The oldest son was a horse of a different color. With 3 marriages and a loose zipper I am not certain the exact. Marriage 1 produced one, marriage #2 produced at least 2. Marriage 3 produced one but added two daughters. I will not even begin with # 2 Sis. She had 3. Oldest has one adopted and two step. Middle child had three marriages producing a total of 3. The last marriage brought adult steps I've never met. Sis #2's daughter married 3 times, had children with two of the husbands for a total of 3 children. I have no idea how many steps she still claims as her children. Oh, baby sis has 3 kids, one married with 3 children. Her two sons are still unmarried though one is approaching 40. The second is gay and unattached at this writing. If you are not overwhelmed and confused by now, well I am. I did not even get into the fact that the two oldest sisters grandkids have children that are in their teens. Other grandkids are just starting so there are lots of babies. So maybe I just should have said yes, it happens. Even to the point several have shared birthdays. namaste, janice xx

Delete&*<> oh I had a giggle reading all that! Here at the Mac Clan we are it; four siblings and no 'issue' (there was our beloved Maestro, no longer here). I have trouble even keeping up with our birthdays; brother's was today and I only remembered when half the day was over!!! A phone call put that right. Yxx
